nice and clean

Jennie and the boys are on vacation in Utah for a couple of weeks so the responsibility of posting a blog has fallen to me. As you can see I am not very good at it. August has started out as a lonely month. You would think that with the amount of time that I am working I would be use to not seeing the family, but that is not true. These two weeks have been very lonely and I miss hearing the children beg to stay up late and my dear wife begging for them to go to bed. While I was looking through pictures I realized I did not have a lot of new pictures. However, I did find this one of Gavin in his favorite towel. He had just finished taking a bath in the “big tub” in our bath room. They really enjoy getting in our tub and making a royal mess. Once they are done with the bath they always ask for me to give them a towel swing. A towel swing is when I wrap them up in a towel and swing them up as high as I can. Recently I have been having a tough time doing it because they are getting to big. Luckily I can sometimes use this towel long enough to distract Gavin. He loves to wear this around the house and let everyone know that he looks like a giraffe. I love how cute he looks with his big smile and a little towel. Well, I am sure Jennie will have much more to say and post on the blog when she returns home and I can’t wait for that to happen.

Team Campbell Brothers =)

So I asked Steven to air out the inflatable waterslide that we have for the boys and roll it up and put it away. Of course in order to air it out he had to blow it up. I tried to keep the boys distracted but it was only a matter of time before they noticed the huge slide out in the back yard. For those of you that have children, you know that it is an upward battle to try and explain, “It’s not time to play, dad is just airing out the equipment” John looks at me with a confused face and just starts stripping down. Of course Gavin does WHATEVER John does so he also is in the buff by now too! Next thing I know our two cute boys are having the time of their lives. It was hard for Steven and I to stop all the fun they were having so we just embraced their desires and thanked God that we had a private back yard!!

What happened to my Husband?

Ok, so things are good here in Texas other then I NEVER see my husband anymore! What they failed to mention in this ad which was on the front page of the local newspaper was that he also works on Saturdays. So, he works on Post (Ft. Hood) Mon. - Fri., 7:30am to 4:30pm then evenings at Gentle Touch Dentistry Mon.,Wed., Thurs., and Saturdays. Sorry, I don't mean to be such a complainer, but I miss him. On the other hand the boys and I have been having a blast doing all sorts of different activities; bike rides, water parks, shopping, and the next thing on the list is to go horse back riding. Not to mention I have tons of new neighbors who are awesome! The weather is great and overall I really can't complain. Happy Birthday John and Gavin!! These are the new bikes the boys picked out for their B-day presents. Ofcourse they picked the same bike just different colors. They had a smaller version that I thought would fit Gavin perfectly but can you believe it was too little! Gavins legs go all the way up to his neck, the kid is incredible. He rides the same size bike as John and just as well too! Ok, so I am a little bit of a bragger, but John said to me today "Mom, you are the best mom in the whole world". You can imagine how great that made me feel. To all my friends and family, I MISS YOU! *

Home Sweet Home

This is our Great Room. This is where we all lounge around and mostly watch TV, talk, and play games. It has great windows that look out to the backyard for a great view and so I can keep an eye on my kids. We love this room. This is the Kitchenette which has beautiful windows that look out to the backyard. This was my old dinning room table that I painted white to make it look a little fresher. I like the way it turned out. This is where our family eats most of our meals. The kitchen is where the kids and I spend most of our time. We now have a strict rule of NO eating or drinking anywhere in the house but the kitchen. There are no exceptions to this rule since I now have a home with WHITE carpet!! This wouldn’t have been my first choice but it has given us all better manners.
This is the Formal Dinning area. Notice the Waterford Crystal candle holder and the Bulova wall clock; Steven’s Mother and Father got that for us as graduation gifts, we love them!
This is supposed to be the formal living area but I have converted it into my kid’s entertainment room. All there toys are organized nicely in the side closet. Some time in the future I plan on putting French doors on the entrance, but for now its fine.
This is our Master B.R. it’s very nice and big and has a nice little sitting area that looks out to the backyard. The bathroom is equipped with a huge garden tub and a big walk-in closet. Finally, no more Cleveland sized closets!
I decided to go with a Cowboy theme since we do live in Cowboy Country, the boys love it! We even got them some cowboy boots, they wear them everywhere.
As you can see, we are really enjoying our new home and I hope you all like it as much as we do.

Loving our new home

We are really loving Texas so far! Steven just started work and I have to say, he looks hot in his uniform! John and Gavin decided to play dress up today when Steven got home, they think this boots are pretty cool.
John and Gavin are enjoying the back yard. This is the first time in thier lives that they have had a back yard. The're outside most of the day and I can barely get them to come inside to eat lunch. They LOVE it, and I love that it's fenced in and they can't get out. I love that I can see them from almost any room in the house so I can keep an eye on them while I try to get things done.
Ok, so it took us almost 2 1/2 weeks to get here and get somewhat settled in. I'm not going to post pictures of the house just yet, I still have some decorating to get done, but I can't wait to share pics of our beautiful home.
All I can say is that moving is very stressful but we made it and are very happy in Texas!

Congradulations Steven!

Well, Steven is now offically known as Captain Doctor Steven Campbell! He has worked so hard to get where he is now, we are so proud of him.
After the graduation ceremony Steven was promoted to the rank of Captain along with a friend and classmate, Sheena Olds. Steven and Sheena are 2 of a class of 68 who are in the US ARMY. Steven and I are so honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve our country. God Bless the USA!!
Gavin spending time with Dad.
Steven and I are both very excited to start a new chapter in our lives and look forward to our move to Texas. However I would like to mention that unfortually a few days after graduation Steven and I learned the sad news that we had lost the pregnancy. Please know that we will be okay and don't expect any condolences but wanted to let our friends and family know.

Waterpark Fun!

We had a blast. I did NOT like being in a swim suit but I got through it. The boys won't stop talking about "The Waterpark".
